Computational Fluid Dynamics or CFD is a key tool at Acrokin that informs almost all of the system models used to prove a design concept prior to committing design effort. Most commonly its convective heat transfer coefficients, pressure drop in ducts and valves and body forces. The interaction of the fluid with parts adjacent can be useful to determine resultant dynamic forces and temperature fields to be applied to stress analysis.

Typical projects include battery cooling systems, heat exchangers, air flow in electric motors, diesel and gasoline port design and resulting cylinder flow fields, fans and pumps.
